Sikhism and Reincarnation

(1)Sikhism practices a syncretism of belief as shared by the religious orders of Islam and Hinduism and therefore the organization  does not exist as a pure religion in regards to its originality.

Perhaps its views may seem beneficial in releasing the tension of these other opposing religious systems but the question is does this borrowing of philosophies make its beliefs more correct or has it just compounded the problem by its adoption and adaptation to these diverse and divergent world views?

Though the moralistic beliefs of this movement are commendable in correcting many of the negative features of these two contrary religious groups does this pluralism of reformation necessitate the validity of its truth claims?

Anyway one of the controversial elements which it shares with its Hindu neighbors is the concepts of karma and reincarnation. I have recently done a blog that discusses this concept,at least from a Hindu perspective, which also contains a post that I wrote on life after death.

The Sikhs have made some positive changes regarding their religious outlook on reincarnation by avoiding some of the negative applications as it relates to caste discrimination and adding the concept of divine pardon or grace but yet there is still a common thread to this refashioned Hindu fabric of thought which makes up a similar  costume of belief.

My challenge is will this garment of reincarnation be able to clothe the nakedness of the worshipper in their guilt or will it unravel whereby showing its inadequacy to fully clothe or cover their shame?

Lastly I would encourage you to trust in Jesus as both Lord and Savior who is able to  provide for you a purity through His death and resurrection by clothing you in the white robes of His righteousness in washing you clean through the blood of His sacrificial death that was given on your behalf, Revelation. 7:9-17.
